Ed Osborn Obituary

Ed Osborn passed away March 14, 2024, at the age of 86.

Ed was born on March 19, 1937, in Enumclaw to George and Veronica Osborn. He came from a long line of loggers, spending his childhood in logging camps across the state of Washington.

After graduating high school in 1956, Ed enlisted in the Navy. For the next 3 years he, would be stationed on Midway Island as a Seabee, constructing a runway four miles offshore.

After his enlistment was up, he decided to go back to working in the woods. Ed would spend time working for the United States Forest Service and as a member of the National Fire Team, fighting forest fires in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. In 1970, he was offered a job at Weyerhaeuser as part of a cutting crew. He would spend twenty-nine years working for Weyerhaeuser as a cutter and heavy equipment operator. In 2017, Ed was named Bull of the Woods by the Buckley Log Show, as a way of honoring a retired logger who helped carry on the logging heritage.

Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, taking care of his livestock, and spending time with his friends and family.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Lois Osborn; sister Vivian Predmore (Ron); daughter Kim Borgen (Alan); son Karl; granddaughters Danelle Borgen (Kapeli) and Devan Pease (Jordan). Ed also leaves behind four great-grandchildren, Michael, Matai, Avarua and Payton.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Lions Club or the Enumclaw Fire Department.

A celebration of Ed’s life will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Enumclaw Field House.
