Arturo Zamora Obituary (1955

Arturo Gonzalo Zamora passed away from a sudden heart attack on September 12, 2016 at the age of 61 in his home in Covington, WA. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Elizabeth; his son and daughter-in-law Arturo and Idania; his daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth and Luke; and his siblings Antonio, Maria Esther and Daniel. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Nicholas, Sebastian, Anna, Angel Antonio, and Almudena, and his beloved one-year-old grandbabies Nimue Citlali and Liam Arturo. Arturo was born in Mexico City on January 10, 1955. He married his childhood sweetheart at the age of 22 and soon afterward, with two small children in tow, he moved to Alameda, CA to start a job with Kaiser Aluminum. His search for a better life for his family and his love of technology took him to other opportunities in Spokane, WA and eventually to Seattle to support his children as they attended the University of Washington. Through his drive and work ethic, he enabled and empowered his family to achieve their own level of greatness. Arturo dearly loved his wife, traveling to see his children and grandchildren, and rooting for the Seattle Seahawks from the 40 yard line. He cherished spending time with his family at Seahawks games--his two greatest passions. During the off season, Arturo enjoyed home improvement projects, maintaining his yard, and keeping up with the latest technology, from Betamax to the latest iPhone (some hits some misses). In his long IT career, Arturo worked for IBM, Kaiser Aluminum, Washington Natural Gas, Safeco, and most recently at Nordstrom, where he enjoyed using his employee discount to treat his family with gifts and was a regular at the Nordstrom Cafe. Above all, as the oldest of four siblings, Arturo kept the family close despite long distances. He was a devoted husband, a generous father, a wise brother, a witty joker, a fun travel companion, and a hard working colleague. Services will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Edline-Yahn & Covington Funeral Chapel in Kent, beginning with a viewing opportunity at 9am, the ceremony at 10am, and a reception at 11am. For those that are not able to make it on Sunday, an additional viewing will be held the day prior on Saturday, September 17, 2016, from 4pm to 8pm at the same location.
