Athol D. French Obituary (1927

Athol D. French "Frenchie" of Enumclaw, WA died May 8, 2007 at the age of 80. He was born January 14, 1927 in Pender, Nebraska. Frenchie enlisted in the Navy just before his 18th birthday. He met Polly Ann in church in August of 1946 and they were married 6 weeks later on Oct. 12, 1946. He helped with the building of Highline Christian Church in Burien and later serving as a deacon and elder. Athol began working for Boeing in 1949 and continued until his medical retirement in 1985. He enjoyed fixing things, working with wood and carpentry. Mr. French loved children and dogs, loved a challenge and no one could tell him it couldn't be done. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, especially experimenting with fertilizer if he heard anyone recommending it. He is preceded in death by his sons Gary Ray French in 1952 and Arthur Merle French in 1973. He is survived by his wife: Polly Ann French of Enumclaw, WA, sons: Robert (Nellie) French of Marysville, WA, Tim (Deana) French of Enumclaw, WA, daughters: Pam Coultard of Tukwila, WA, Meg (Walt) Horath of Tenino, WA, brother: Keith A. (Eilean) French of Port Susan, WA; 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
