Bill And Carol Weymouth Obituary (1935

The Story of Bill (Born March 22, 1935 - Passing Feb 23, 2013) and Carol (born Sept 1, 1933 - Passing Sept 10, 2010) Weymouth We'll start our story with the birth of Carol Marie Gladheim. Carol was born in North Dakota on September 1st, 1933. She grew up on a farm, the youngest of 8. Back then you needed that many kids to work the farm. Next well then start with the birth of William (Bill) Claude Weymouth. Bill was born in Seattle, WA on March 22nd, 1935; he was the middle child of 3. They both had interesting childhoods. Bill won a new bike as a Seattle Times newspaper boy when he lived in Port Townsend, WA and Carol used to play pranks back in North Dakota by putting hay bales (and other items) in the middle of the road with her friends during Halloween. Well fast forward to when Carol decided to leave her home in North Dakota with a friend on their way to San Diego, CA via Seattle. Well needless to say she never made it to California. She happened to meet a young navy sailor. Yep that sailor boy was Bill. Bill served in the Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Hopewell. He had a close call aboard the Hopewell when off the coast of California they had one of their own planes crash into his ship while doing naval exercises. There were some casualties that day, but Bill was safe. On March 1st, 1958 Bill and Carol got married. They started their family on Jan 3rd, 1960 with the birth of their 1st child David, and then added to it on August 31st, 1961 with Timothy, then hoping for a daughter to go with their 2 sons arrived son #3 Curtis on December 29th, 1962. But wait there's more. Once again they wanted that daughter and on May 16th, 1964 came son #4 Michael. Needless to say they were done!!!! The four Weymouth boys kept the happy couple quite busy. While Bill started in the Banking business and became a successful banker, Carol became an Avon consultant in the late 60's early 70's. She then switched to become a very successful "Sears service agreement" sales person that she eventually retired from. Bill, after several years with Washington Mutual Bank opening new bank branches and managing some of the busiest branches in the system retired as well. With the 4 boys now grown and out on their own the world was their oyster!!! With the help and knowledge of Bills younger brother, Bill and Carol were able to make some very successful investment decisions that would enable them to travel the country in their motor home and have a retirement home in the sunny California Desert. It's here at Rancho Casa Blanca (RCB for short) that they met numerous friends thought out the years. Bill always talked about the stories they would share while on the golf course, while Carol would nod her head in agreement. On September 10th, 2010 Carol lost her battle with cancer and Bill lost his beloved wife of 52+ years. Bill missed Carol terribly and continued on even thou he had his own health issues. On March 23rd, 2013 Bill went to be with his beloved wife Carol in heaven. They will always be in our thoughts and in our hearts!!!! They leave behind those 4 Weymouth boys, 2 wonderful daughter in-laws, 3 special grand daughters, 2 amazing grandsons, 3 beautiful great granddaughters and 1 cherished great grandson. Oh and it would not be complete without mentioning their dog Lissa. ______________________________________________________________________________ Memories from family members: One of my fondest memories was when dad helped me build my garage out in Olalla. He sure knew his stuff and that's where I got my "home improvement' skills from. He would tell me "measure twice, cut once" well before I ever heard it on some cable show. One of my long lasting memories of mom was her constant battle with our dog Gigi when we lived in Longview. She would position the "white" chairs in the living room a certain way and when she would come home from work they would be either in a different position or still "rocking" from when Gigi just jumped off. BUSTED GIGI!!! Mom and Dad you will always be missed and loved, your son Mike I will always remember mom saying that good old Norwegian "ufta mya" and making those yummy french dip sandwiches that smelled so good even tho I couldn't eat them (that gluten thing). Now dad considered me his "go-to-person" when it came to his computer problems. I just knew that when he called and asked for me he needed help with his computer or getting onto to his email. From Sherry (daughter in-law, Mikes wife) Hey everyone! Tim here. I am Mom and Dad's second born in their brood of beautiful sons! My fondest memories of being together in our family unit has to be when we all took our summer vacations, either at Lake Mayfield or at Cougar Camp-ground here in Washington State. I will always remember how Dad used to teach us, at a very young age, how to swim and not be afraid of the water. In fact, Dave, my older brother, was a great water-polo player and I became a record holder on our high school swim team because of Pop's! I can also recall the days of Dad and his four sons' in the various lakes practicing our swimming abilities while Mom rested in her beach chair reading her People and Good-Housekeeping Magazines! She loved to watch her old man spending time with her boy's and having fun on those hot summer afternoons while on vacation! These are the memory's I will always treasure! I miss you Mom and Dad! Love always, your son, Tim. Wow, we were so blessed to have such wonderful parents. I had lots of fond memories growing up. I especially, enjoyed the many camping /boating trips with Mom and Dad. Dad seemed to always have a boat or camper to keep us four boys occupied with the great outdoors. We would water ski, fish, run around the beach, and always enjoy those great meals Mom would have waiting. The fondest memory was the time with Dad in a rowboat on Discovery bay, just the two of us with my fishing poll in the water. As Dad was rowing, I happened to hook a mud shark! This shark was bigger than me at the time! With wide eyes and Pop's there to help, we got that monster up to the side of the boat before the line snapped. I guess as the third Son, I became known as someone who enjoys playing in campfires and doing some fishing....Thanks for all Mom and Dad. Love and miss you, Curt. I won't ever forget the memories that Grandpa and Grandma left me with when Bo and I went to Indio to see them. I loved how Grandpa, when I was there, he taught me how to swim properly and how Grandma, Bo and I drove in the Golf Cart and we saw the dingo while driving around RCB. I won't ever forget how much fun we had when we went to The Living Desert and saw incredible animals that I've only seen once in my life. I loved how when we visited them in Gig Harbor, we played King's Corners and we always laughed, Grandma and I did, and Grandpa got frustrated since I couldn't stop laughing. I won't ever forget how Grandpa and I dealt with which apple fritter we got, since we both wanted the biggest fritter and how we both had a passion for dogs. I loved how we both took Lissa to the dog park when I came to visit them. I will miss them both immensely and will always have them in my heart and in my memories. I love you Grandpa and Grandma very much, Michael Jr. Throughout my life I have countless "Dad" memories, from the times all 4 of us boys would ride on Dad's back and wrestle him in the living room of the house in Longview, to having Dad go to church with us on Christmas and listening to him sing...and watching Mom have one of her uncontrollable giggle-fits. Suffice to say, Dad was no Frank Sinatra! As I got older, I admired his work ethic and his sense of fair play. Many people have told me over the years, friends and fellow employees of his, what an honest and genuinely caring person he was. Now, as a Father and Grampa myself, I really miss being able to pick up the phone and asking him for advice. He always seemed to know the right thing to say. I miss just talking about life-stuff. Whether it was about politics ( don't get him started!!), the Seahawks or Mariners, or just about missing Mom.....I miss his voice and was blessed to call him my Dad. David One of my fondest memories of Mom occurred on August 28th, 1987. That day Mom was going to become a Gramma for the first time. Deb and I's eldest child was born in Tacoma and I remember coming out to the waiting area to give everyone the great news. Mom was waiting in anticipation, I'm sure secretly hoping for that "elusive" little girl. I walked straight up to her and announced the arrival of a happy and healthy baby....Danny. Even though she was very excited, her face couldn't hide the "slight" disappointment of not having a little girl to shop for. When I told her that Danny was short for Danielle....she almost fainted! She could not wait to hold that baby girl. She loved all her Grandkids, and then Great Grandkids so very much...and they all loved her. She had an innate warmth and unbiased caring that made you feel loved and secure. You always felt special around Mom...I'll always miss hearing her voice and listening to Deb and her talk on the phone for what seemed like hours. I'll always remember her smile! David As I've gotten older and my Faith stronger, I thank God daily for being blessed with the Mom and Dad I have. I know our time here on Earth is short and am comforted through this loss by knowing I'll one day be re-united with them in Heaven. I love you Mom and Dad. David I have a lot of great memories of my grandparents, and one of the fondest memories of my Grandma was when ever my brother and I would stay the night over at their house. Almost every time we stayed the night my brother got to sleep on the hide abed, and I had a choice to sleep on the floor downstairs or on the floor in my grandma's room. I would choose my grandmas room. And every time grandma would put on her Hymens CD and I would fall asleep to it, but not before she said "Night, Night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite, and if they do grab a shoe, hit them in the head and make them coo-coo." I shared many memorable times with my grandpa, but I really enjoyed and cherished the hours of card playing that my brother and I shared with him. One of my grandpa's favorite games to play was Kings Corner, and every time we played he had to have his special seat at the table. And most of the time he would talk my brother and I into dealing the cards so that he had the first move. We would just sit at the table for hour's playing cards, talking and exchanging quarters as each game ended and a new one began. Not a day goes by that I don't miss my grandparents, but I am blessed to have had them in my life for as long as I did. I find hope in my God and Savior that one day "He will wipe every tear from our eyes. There will be no more death' or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." I look forward to that day when I will bask in the glory of Jesus with everyone that I love right next to me. I love and miss you Grandpa and Grandma, your grandson Bo.
