Blodwen Rabe Obituary (2008

Blodwen "Joyce" Jones was born in Neath Wales on October 26, 1932, and then moved to London, England when she was about 10 years old. She worked in her sister's Bayswater flower shop while going to school. She met her husband, Stan, in 1949 while he served in the U.S. Air Force and they married in Portland, OR on April 13, 1952. Joyce helped Stan get an Engineering Degree at Oregon State. They have resided in the Briarwood Renton area since the early 60's, raising three children, and helping care for 2 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter Rosalind Rabe, her sisters Kit and Mary, and her brothers Tom and Billy. She is survived by her husband Stan, son Jeff Rabe of Renton, daughter Mary Edwards of Covington, sister Barbara aBond, and brother Harry Jones of London. blodwen loved to read mystery novels, dance, and was very lucky at the horse races and slot machines. She worked part time at the dry cleaners in the Highlands until the mid l90's. She was a very loving and extremely generous mother and grandmother, wife and friend.
