Bonnie Bloesser

In celebration of Bonita Louise Bloesser (Carpenter)

Remembered for her strong work ethic and dedication to nursing, Bonita Louise (Hazen) Bloesser began her career after graduating from Aberdeen High School in 1962 and entering the nursing program at Saint Peter’s Hospital. She served in multiple roles at Grays Harbor Hospital for 25 years, including in the obstetric and surgical wards. She later cared for geriatric patients at Pacific Care Center for 14 years. She most recently supported people facing mental health and substance use challenges at the Crisis Clinic until she retired at 75. Her love for medicine continued as she studied holistic approaches to her health.

Bonnie loved the color blue and was an avid reader of crime and detective fiction, often finishing several books each week. She had a lifelong love of dogs, especially Shelties, and was blessed to share her life with several of them over the years. Bonnie's days were filled with joy and companionship from Blue and Guy, her beloved fur babies and most recent canine companions.

Bonnie made her home in Aberdeen, Washington, where she lived with her husband, Dan Carpenter. The two met while working together at Pacific Care Center and later continued their careers side by side at the Crisis Clinic. Bonnie and Dan had been together for many years and were married seven years ago at a Las Vegas ceremony.

Bonnie, daughter of the late Ernest George and Lois Louise Hazen, passed away from a short battle with illness on 9/28/2026. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Dan Carpenter; her brother, Bob Hazen (Cathy); their children; her children, Charles Collins, Richelle DeLaurenti (Robert), and Carrie Pasquan (Matt); her nine grandchildren; her 14 great-grandchildren; and friends who loved her deeply. She was preceded in death by her daughter Sonja Louise Abel.

A graveside service will be held for Bonnie Bloesser on Saturday, October 24th at 1:00 at Fernhill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington. Attendees are encouraged to wear blue.
