Dann Immel Obituary (1959

Dann Jerrold Immel passed away on January 7, 2013, in an accident in Pucallpa, Peru, at the age of 53. Dann will be missed dearly by his family, friends, and many coworkers. He was born in Los Angeles, California, on September 5, 1959, and was a longtime resident of Gig Harbor, Washington. His accomplishments included being a Chinook helicopter command pilot, airplane pilot, an airframe and power plant mechanic, and running a successful automotive engine rebuilding business in Tacoma for ten years. Dann was an employee of Columbia Helicopters for the past fifteen years and belonged to several aviation organizations. He was a professional in every way and was well respected by the aviation community. Dann loved traveling with his family, playing guitar, working on home projects, riding motorcycles, and kayaking when he was not flying . Dann was a generous, fun loving spirit, who brought laughter, adventure, and joy to all who knew him. He lived his life with integrity, never compromising who he was and all that he believed in. He was a dedicated husband and father and helped everyone around him be a better person. He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-one years, Nancy; son, Brian of Seattle; parents Jerrold Immel of Sea Ranch, California and Lynda Lockwood of Aloha, Oregon; brothers John of Portland, Oregon; Dave of Beaverton, Oregon; step-mother Annie Immel of Sea Ranch, California; step-father Wayne Lockwood of Aloha, Oregon; three step-brothers, numerous aunts, uncles; a nephew and niece. A memorial service will be held for Dann on Saturday, January 26, 2013, at 10:00 AM at Haven of Rest in Gig Harbor, Washington, with reception following. Inurnment held at Haven of Rest. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the "CHI 241 Peru Memorial Fund" at any Wells Fargo Bank to help assist the families of the seven coworkers who lost their lives in Peru.
