Edward Terrill Jordan Obituary (1930

Edward T. Jordan of Roy, Washington died peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, November 6th at his home. He was 85. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joan L.; his daughter, Robin Kent(Robert) of Oakdale, California, and 5 sons; Craig A. of Roy, Richard L. of Southern California, Mark S. (Donna Still) of San Jose, California, William T. (Rebekah) of Yelm, WA., and Scott T.(Sandra) of Eatonville, WA.; three brothers, Thomas L.(Erma) of Don Pedro, Ca., Alan L. of Waterford, Ca., Donald C. (Merla) of Don Pedro, Ca., and a sister, Sharon Sprouls (Marvin) of Alexandra, Minn.; eight grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren, plus one more on the way. Mr. Jordan was born Dec. 29, 1930, in Algona, Iowa. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the U. S. Army, traveled through Europe on a motorcycle while stationed in Germany. He eventually became an Explosive Ordinance Disposal Specialist for 17 of the 20 years he served in the military. His service also took him to Korea in in the late 1950's, and also to Okinawa, Japan in 1967. He retired to San Jose, California in 1968 until 1981 when he moved his family to Roy, WA. where they have live to the present. There will be a graveside military honor service at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, with memorial service held at Weeks Dryer Funeral Home, 220 134th St. S., Tacoma, WA.
