–

Bonney Lake, WA

Evelyn Elaine (Barich)Takacs (1948-2024) Evelyn Elaine Takacs, beloved sister, mother, grandmother, companion and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Bonney Lake, Washington, on February 5, 2024, at the age of 75. She was born on November 1,1948, in Seattle, to parents William Matthew Barich and Dorothy Sophia Liljemark. She grew up in West Seattle and cherished memories of her childhood there. Evelyn graduated from Chief Sealth High School and embarked on a fulfilling career at Boeing, where she retired after 28 dedicated years of service.
Evelyn's life revolved around her family. She was a devoted sister to Sylvia Gulin, loving companion to Paul McConnell and a nurturing mother to her six children: Paul Frizzell, Michael Ford (Angie), Kenneth Ford (Mande), Jeffrey Ford (Shawna), Michelle (Ford) Golden Rabelos (Danny), and Danielle (Semple) Wiley (Derek). Her heart could barely contain all the love she had for her twenty grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren, and she delighted in spending as much time as possible with them. It was no secret though, that her favorite child was her beloved kitty, Ralph "Ralphie" Takacs.
Beyond family, Evelyn possessed a zest for life and enjoyed a variety of pursuits. She was an avid golfer and a member of a women's golf league, finding solace and joy on the green. Her love for nature blossomed through her passion for gardening, where she cultivated beauty and tranquility wherever she was. She loved watching football, always cheering on the Seahawks and the UW Huskies. She enjoyed going to games at Husky Stadium all decked out in purple, and was a beast in her Seahawks signature green and blue. Her competitive spirit shone through in her love of card games, and she found comfort in the meticulous art of sewing. Her custom made, extra-large Christmas stockings will be forever cherished by those lucky enough to have one. Evelyn was also a whiz in the kitchen, renowned for her unparalleled baking skills, making delicious creations that were devoured by all. Her passion for travel culminated in a memorable family trip to Whistler, BC, this past August.
Evelyn will be remembered for so many things, but mostly for her quick wit, her infectious laughter, her unwavering kindness, her generosity, her patience, her huge heart and her absolute love of being a mother and a grandmother. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, family, and cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts and traditions of all who were lucky enough to have known and loved her.
Evelyn's celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024. From 2:00pm-5:00pm at the Eagles in Buckley, 29021 WA-104, Buckley, WA 98321.
