Faustina Bacungan Obituary (1938

Faustina Jarabe Bacungan was born May 14, 1938 to Lazaro Jarabe and Francisca Montenegro in Gloria Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. Her parents were farmers and she was the fifth child of seven children including Pelagio Jarabe, Felix Jarabe, Nicomedis Jarabe, Andres Jarabe, Lolita Villaruel, and Catalino Jarabe. She graduated from Mary Chiles Midwifery School at Gastambide Street in Sampaloc, Manila in 1962. She married Fedencio Cavinta Bacungan on August 20, 1963 and had three children, Fernando, Jocelyn, and Judith. She immigrated to the U.S. with her family in 1970 and resided in Seattle, WA where she had her 4th child, Franklin, in 1977. She made many wonderful memories raising her family in the states and occasionally traveling back to the Philippines to visit her relatives. She worked as a central supply technician at Virginia Mason and retired in 2003 after 25 years of service. Faustina was a dedicated member of St. Paul Church since 1972. She spent her retirement years spending time with her nine grandchildren whom she loved and cared for dearly. She loved to garden and had many beautiful flowers around her household. She was the matriarch and rock of the family and had a gentle, quiet, loving soul. She will be dearly missed. Faustina is survived by her husband Fedencio Cavinta Bacungan; sons, Fernando Bacungan (Marlo) and Franklin Bacungan; daughters, Jocelyn Bautista and Judith Davies all of Seattle; brother Pelagio Jarabe and sister Lolita Jarabe Villaruel both of Mindoro, Philippines; and 9 grandchildren: Sabrina, Kylie, Peyton-Alexa Bacungan, Aniesa, Justus, Jessie, Alivia Bautista, Sinta Cordova, and Brandon Davies. She was preceded by siblings, Felix Jarabe, Nicomedis Jarabe, Andres Jarabe, and Catalino Jarabe. Services will be held Friday, September 2, 2016, the viewing/Rosary from 9-10am; Funeral Mass 10am, St. Paul Church, 10001 57th Ave S, Seattle WA; burial will follow funeral service at Calvary Cemetery, 5041 35th Ave NE, Seattle WA.
