Ferne Richmond Obituary (1927

Ferne passed away June 23, 2013 in Gig Harbor. She was 85 years old. Ferne is survived by her five children, Linda, Steve, George , Barbara (Main) and Doug, ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and her sister, Ruth Greenwood. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Rex, who died February 16th, 2013. Ferne was born December 26, 1927 near Salem, Oregon to Fred and Lillie Wilson, as the youngest of two children. In 1940 Ferne and her family moved to Port Orchard, and Ferne graduated from South Kitsap High school in 1945. She, along with her sister, worked at Kitsap County Bank until after she was married to Rex in 1952, and started raising her children. After the children left home, she returned to Kitsap Bank and worked there until her retirement in 1995. Ferne was a two-time cancer survivor. Ferne's greatest loves in her life were her husband Rex, her children and their families, and her sister. Ferne brought light into the world, was loved by everyone she met and showed everyone kindness that they will always remember her for. She will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at the Port Orchard United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 10 at 1:00. Everyone is welcome.
