Geoffrey Banks Obituary (1932

Geoffrey M. Banks Beloved by his wife and family Geoffrey M. Banks, age 82 passed away peacefully on May 2, 2015. He had recently moved to Gig Harbor having lived previously in Marysville, Snohomish and Bellevue. Geoffrey was born in Doncaster, Yorkshire, England. He served in the British Army Corp of Engineers before emigrating to the U.S. to work for the Boeing Company as a Flight Controls Engineer. He was honored at Boeing for designing a cockpit control for the 747 jetliner which was first implemented on Air Force One. He and his wife Margaret were married for 57 years and had 4 children: Lesley Geoff (deceased), Gillian and Ian. He also had 5 grandchildern: Sara, Kristen, Tiffany (deceased), Meghan and Emma and 5 great grandchildren. He leaves family in England as well: sister-in-law and husband Mac and Sybil MacDonald, nephew Neil and niece Vikki and their families. Funeral service will be Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 2:00 pm in Haven of Rest Funeral Home, Gig Harbor. A graveside service will follow in the Memorial Park.
