Kate Garner Obituary (1923

Kate Helen Garner was born in Drammen, Norway on January 19, 1923 and passed away peacefully in Gig Harbor, WA on August 16, 2014. Helen was a teacher in Norway before coming to the US in 1946. After raising her children she became a librarian in local private Universities. She loved gardening, traveling and playing bridge with her many friends. Helen was very involved with her church, Nordic Study Circle, Daughters of Norway and for many years the Tacoma Orthopedic Guild. Helen is survived by son, Robert Kuhn, daughters Claire Pickard and Karen Durkee, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Service will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the United Methodist Church, 7400 Pioneer Way, Gig Harbor.
