Kelley Jacqueline Moloney Obituary (1976

Kelley Jacqueline Moloney, 43, resident of Mercer Island WA for 13 years, passed away on June 12, 2020, at home with family by her side. She was surrounded by family and friends during her final days. Kelley was born in Stockton California on November 30, 1976. She lived in the area for a short time before her family moved to Washington State to be closer to her mother's family. She grew up in the small town of Vaughn which is due west of Gig Harbor, WA. Kelley graduated from Peninsula High School, where she excelled at tennis and academics. She then went on to Santa Clara University, before transferring to the University of Puget Sound for her Baccalaureate degree. Kelley earned her undergraduate Nursing degree from Seattle Pacific University (SPU) and became a labor and delivery nurse at Swedish Hospital. Thereafter, she returned to SPU for her Masters degree in Nursing and was named the 2008 graduate student of the year. Upon becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Kelley worked at Swedish Hospital in the Neuro Endocrinology/Pituitary department until taking a position in 2017 at the University of Washington Neuro Oncology department. Tragically, she was caring for patients with extreme cancers when she was diagnosed with her own cancer. With a love of running, Kelley completed a marathon and many half marathons. She loved to play golf, and landed a hole-in-one on July 21, 2010 at Maplewood. She also enjoyed playing tennis and loved to travel. Her favorite destination was New York City during the Christmas season. London, Paris & Hawaii also held a special place in her heart. Kelley is survived by her extraordinary son Gavin Moloney, age 7 and her husband Colin Moloney, mother Leslie Walters, brother Donnie Matthew Stallman, father Russell Walters, Grandmother Phyllis Bly, aunt Beth and uncle Jerry Mayberry, and her cousins Jennifer Lang, Brian Mayberry, and Kristin Harris. Kelley was a beautiful person who was loved by everyone that came into her life. She was so amazing that words fall short to describe her. She was an extraordinary woman, as a mom, and as a loyal, loving and devoted friend. She was loved by her patients and her colleagues, her friends and her family. She was the best of the very best. She will leave us for a beautiful Heaven but will never let us go, and we will never ever let her go.
