Buckley, Washington
Kent W. Meyer, a loving father, inspiring mentor, and cherished friend, passed away earlier this month. Born in Deshler, Nebraska on March 29, 1943, Kent lived a life that was as full of laughter and wit as it was of kindness and wisdom. He was a man of many talents, an auto body repair savant, and a beacon of strength and resilience that illuminated the lives of many.
After a fruitful career in auto body repair, Kent retired from Fitz Auto Rebuild in Auburn, Washington in 1999. His passion for his craft didn't retire with him. Kent owned his own body and fender shop in Lincoln, Nebraska from 1973 to 1981 for 8 years, a testament to his skill and dedication. In his retirement, he found joy in remodeling his home and restoring his truck, a reflection of his ever-present love for his work. As Albert Einstein once said, "The only way to do great work is to love what you do," and Kent was a living embodiment of this philosophy. He was smart, funny, and gifted, spreading his love for life to all those around him.
Kent's life was a testament to the power of love and family. Despite his accomplishments, what mattered most to Kent was his family. He was a loving father to his sons, Kenny, (Kelly), Todd, (Kathy) and the late Timothy, a loving grandfather to Sarah, Ryan, Tyler, and Dannielle, and a delighted great-grandfather to Elizabeth, Kobe, Kaleb, Arie, Lukas, and Tessa. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eva, his son, Timothy, his parents, Walter and Aliene, and his sister, Janis Culberson.

A graveside inurnment will follow at the Buckley City Cemetery on Monday, November 16, 2026, at 11:00am PDT. As we remember Kent, we invite you to share your memories and photos on his memorial page. In the words of author J.K. Rowling, "The ones that love us never really leave us, you can always find them in here (the heart)," and Kent's memory will forever remain in our hearts.
