Lavonna Stevens Obituary (1930

Lavonna Lee (Tilkens) Stevens, 80, passed away June 21, 2011 at Manor Care in Gig Harbor, Washington She was born on December 23, 1930 to William and Myrtle Tilkens in Portland, Oregon, where she also attended and graduated from Roosevelt High School. Lavonna married Frank Stevens on November 19,1950 in Portland, Oregon. Early in their marriage they resided in Seattle, Washington and later moved with their son to Los Angeles, California where they lived for many years. In the mid- 90's Frank and Lavonna returned to the Pacific Northwest to enjoy retirement in Gig Harbor, Washington. She enjoyed boating, skiing and spending time with family and her numerous friends, many of whom shared her love of bridge playing, which they often did in each other's homes. Lavonna is survived by her brother, Jerry and Helen Tilkens of Portland, Oregon; her son Jim and Carmen Stevens of Houston, Texas; three nieces, Cheryl and Ron McNamara of Portland, Oregon, Susan O' Guin of Seattle, Washington and Michele and Robert Brean of Anchorage, Alaska. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. No memorial service was held at Lavonna's request. Arrangements were made by Haven of Rest, Gig Harbor, Washington.
