Leonard “Buddy” Wayne Jr. was born on April 14, 1939, in Puyallup, Washington, to Nona Satiacum and Leonard Wayne Sr.
Bud was a proud Puyallup Tribal member who spent most of his life in Muckleshoot. His family, fishing, hunting, berry picking, and selling fireworks were a big part of his life.
Bud proudly served in the United States Navy. He also took part in the Treaty Fishing Wars, and he strongly believed in education & hard work.
Bud loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, berry picking, gardening, selling fireworks, and watching sports.
He married his beloved wife, Judy Wayne, and together they raised a large family.
Bud passed away on September 27, 2026, in Auburn, Washington, at the age of 87.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Wayne; his parents, Nona Satiacum and Leonard Wayne Sr.; his children, William Wayne, Leonard Wayne III, Brian Wayne, Robert Wayne Sr., Sandra Wayne, and Susan Wayne-Sicade; his siblings, Sylvia Carrillo, Maryann, Mike, and Tom; and his granddaughter, Judy L. Wayne.
Bud leaves behind his son, Kevin Wayne Sr., & grandchildren: Crystal, Roseann, Edward, Dianndra, Brian, Sandra, Buddy-L, Lluan, Michael Jr., Kevin Jr., Gabrielle, Angellynn, Alexia, Albert, Stephanie, Nicholas Sr., Robert Jr., Josephine, Vernon, Leonard IV, Paula, and his great-grandchildren Aaliyah, Cassidy, Alyssa, Judith & 33 additional.
Bud’s legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be remembered for his love of family, Navy service, selling fireworks & fishing.
