Margret Riley Obituary (1920

Margret J. Day Riley Margret Day Riley passed away July 24, 2010 in Tacoma, WA. She was born on January 29, 1920 in Spokane and raised in Potlatch, Idaho, the oldest of 8 children. She married Robert Day in 1938 and moved to Spokane when he went into the army. They had one son, Jim in 1943. She was very active in support of Robert's successful career with Safeway Stores and the raising of their son who graduated from Gonzaga University in 1965. Robert passed away in 1973 and she began a 4 year career in real estate. This career gave her people skills like remembering names and making conversation that she used for the rest of her life. She married Jack Riley in 1977. They spent their 16 years together between their farm in Quincy, Washington and home in Phoenix, Arizona farming, playing golf, going to the horse races, and spending time with friends and family. Jack passed away in 1993 and Margret continued to live in Phoenix until 2002 and went from novice to earning master points playing bridge. She moved to Issaquah to be closer to her son and family in 2002. She became very active in the Issaquah Senior Center and enjoyed lunches, pinochle and associating with her many friends. She moved to Harbor Place, an independent and assisted living residence in Gig Harbor in 2007. Her hobbies included researching online and investing in stocks and mutual funds, shopping, playing cards, horse races and socializing with her friends and family. Margret is survived by her beloved son Jim (Raeceil) Day of Gig Harbor; grandchildren Rochelle (Scott) Juetten in Sammamish, Ryann (Lindy) Day in Seattle; great grandchildren Jacob and Callie Juetten and Henry and Owen Day; sisters Nancy Hilgers of Vancouver, WA, Thereasa Nowack of Spokane, and Lora Lea (Archie) Neal of Garfield, WA; and step daughters Pat (Bob) Ogburn of Wenatchee and Pam (Tony) Holiday of Moses Lake. She was preceded in death by her father and mother Leo and Lora Nowack; husbands Robert Day and Jack Riley; and her brothers Fred, Leo Jr. (Jim) and Charles Nowack of Potlatch and sister Mary Jane Boucher of Seattle. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 pm on Thursday August 5, 2010 at Harbor Place 1016 ? 29th St NW, Gig Harbor, WA.
