Marney Ingvar Pearson Obituary (1939

MARNEY INGVAR PEARSON, age 75, died Thursday, September 10, 2015 at his home in Corona, CA. He was born on November 1, 1939 in Seattle Washington. Both of his parents, Ernest and Margit Pearson, were immigrants from Sweden who came to the United States in 1933. At the age of 17 Marney joined the United States Navy and was assigned to shipboard duty on the Navy Carrier U.S.S. Philippine Sea. Once aboard the ship he was assigned to the dental section as a striker. He was later selected to attend the Dental Technician School in San Diego, CA and after graduation he was transferred to the Naval Base located in Port Hueneme, CA. His duties were general practice of dentistry. He always had a passion in automobile repair and spent most of his spare time fixing cars. In 1960 he was discharged from the Navy and returned to his native Seattle. Marney was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Marilynn Pomeroy, on September 8, 1962. In 1963 he was employed by General Motors Corporation. Through his many years of employment with GM, he took on many positions in Fremont, CA and later transferred to Wentzville, MO. After 33 years of employment with GM, he retired at the age of 56. Marney and Marilynn moved back to Seattle in 1998 to enjoy their lives boating the Puget Sound, visiting their property in Hoodsport and spending time with family. In 2008 Marilynn passed away and a few years later, Marney decided to move to Corona, CA to be closer to his daughter. Marney is survived by his daughter, Jalin (Brett) Gerber, Corona CA and his granddaughter Mikayla Gerber. He is also survived by his brother Kenneth (Arlyce) Pearson, Federal Way, WA and his sister Marlene (Norm) Nelson, Bothell, WA. He was preceded in death by his father Ernest, mother Margit and his wife Marilynn.
