Melody Cherie Sykes Obituary (1988 - 2023)

We are sorry to announce the passing of Melody Cherie Sykes. Melody was born on November 5, 1988, in Los Angeles, California, to Sandra Davis and Vernal Sykes. She was adopted and raised by Sonny and Candie Bargala. She passed away on June 5, 2023, in Federal Way, Washington, at the age of 34. Melody had a passion for being with children, learning and bringing smiles to others. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Melody is survived by her son, Tekoa Brown, daughters, I'monie Sykes, and Enaja Sykes. Her parents, Candie and Sonny Bargala and her sisters, Rose Davis, Gabriella Davis, Danielle B. Sanchez, and Madeline Bargala. Melody was preceded in death by her mother, Sandra Davis, her sisters, Jaime Kirk-Stuart, and Renee Davis. A visitation to pay respects to Melody will be held at Weeks' Funeral Home in Buckley on Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place at the Muckleshoot Pentecostal Church on Friday, June 9, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. Following the service, Melody will be buried at New White Lake Cemetery.
