Norma Catchpole
November 17, 1941 – September 27, 2026

Norma Catchpole, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, partner, and friend, passed away on September 27, 2026, at the age of 84.
Norma was born on November 17, 1941, and spent her entire life in South Prairie, Washington—a place she proudly called home. She was a woman who loved deeply, gave generously, and truly never met a stranger. If you knew Norma, you knew that you were loved.
Norma was the proud mother of Alan, Danny and his wife Rhonda, and Jody and his wife Barbara. Her family was her greatest accomplishment and her greatest joy. She was blessed with eight grandchildren—Jeremy, Troy, Brandon, Kayla, Jonathen, Kloe, Cooper, and Maggie—and five great-grandchildren, Logan, Ashlynn, Lynkoln, Malachi, and Maizie.
She is also survived by her brothers, Bob and Ron.
Norma worked at White River High School in the Study Hall. Her family has always been convinced that part of the reason she worked there was simply to keep an eye on her kids. Anyone who knew Norma knows that she would probably have admitted that was at least part of the plan.
Norma was an incredible mother. She raised her boys as a young widow, facing the challenges of life with strength, determination, and an unwavering love for her family. Somehow, she got all of them through those difficult years—and they all made it through together.
Later in life, Norma met Jerry Stingley. Jerry helped her heal and brought companionship, love, and happiness into her life. The two shared a special bond, and Jerry became one of the people Norma loved and cherished most.
Norma adored Jerry, her boys, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, and her beloved fur babies, Riley, Charlie, and Kobe. They were the people and companions she prioritized above all else.
Her faith was admirable and remained an important part of who she was. Norma carried that faith with her through the joys and hardships of life, and it was a source of strength for her and those around her.
But perhaps what people will remember most about Norma was her heart. She loved everyone. She welcomed people into her life, made them feel comfortable, and had a way of making people feel like family. She didn't need a reason to care about someone—caring was simply who she was.
To her children, Norma was more than a mother. She was their protector, their example, their home, and the person who always had their backs. To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was a source of unconditional love. And to everyone who knew her, she was simply Mom, Grandma, Norma—a woman who left the world better because she was in it.
Norma was preceded in death by her father, Fred; her mother, Sarah; her sister, Morison; her brother, Fred Jr.; and her husband, Ray.
Norma's family will carry her love, her faith, her strength, and her memory with them always.
She will be deeply missed, but the love she gave so freely will live on in every generation that follows her.

Rest peacefully, Mom. We love you, and we always will.
