In Loving Memory of Richard “Rick” Max Sherman Rick Sherman passed away unexpectedly on December 18, 2025, leaving this world far too soon and taking with him a presence that was impossible to ignore. Born on May 31, 1968, Rick was larger than life. He was not just the life of the party, he was the party. He was the enforcer, the protector, the truth-teller, and the guy who loved hard, laughed loud, and showed up without hesitation when it mattered most. Rick proudly served in the United States Army as an Army Medic, an experience that shaped both his grit and his sense of humor. After being dropped into Panama, Rick wisely decided that becoming a more focused student was a better life decision than continuing to be shot at. That moment of clarity ultimately led him to the University of Alabama, where his lifelong devotion to all things Crimson Tide was sealed. Rick leaves behind his beloved wife Terri, the love of his life and his partner in every dream. Their shared vision of a forever in Montana was heartbreakingly cut short. Together they built a life rooted in laughter, loyalty, and devotion to one another. Rick leaves behind a blended family that reflects the chapters of his life. He is survived by Terri’s children, Amanda, Brandon, wife Fawn and by his own children, Melissa, Ashley and Ricky. Family meant many things to Rick, and each of his children remains part of the legacy he leaves behind. Rick is also survived by his sister, Michele, the remaining member of the Sherman family, as well as his extended family, nieces, and nephews, all of whom he loved and held dear. Rick was especially proud of his two grandchildren whom he absolutely adored. Being a grandfather brought him immense joy and was a role he cherished deeply. Rick was the man who simply showed up. When life was chaos, he stepped in. When kids needed guidance, he was steady and solid. When someone needed tough love, Rick delivered it, backed by a legendary BS meter that no one ever beat. If Rick had your back, you knew it, and you felt safer because of it. He was fiercely loyal, unapologetically protective, and quietly (and sometimes not so quietly) keeping watch over the people he loved. Rick believed in accountability, in standing your ground, and in doing the right thing, even when it wasn’t easy. Rick’s love for Alabama football was nothing short of legendary. Game days were sacred, crimson ran deep, and cheering for Alabama was non-negotiable. Rick leaves behind a legacy of loyalty, laughter, protection, and presence. His absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but his influence will be felt for generations. Terri and her family are deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support shown during this unimaginable loss.
