Enumclaw, Washington
It is with a warm heart and a smile on our faces that we celebrate the life of Roger Neal Zuehlsdorff, born on December 14, 1944, in Broadus, MT. A witty character known for his compassionate spirit, Roger had a knack for filling the room with laughter and love. His loving nature and supportive presence resonated with everyone who had the privilege to know him. There was no friend as loyal as Roger; he was a book full of wonderful stories and delightful anecdotes.
Roger was a man of many talents and passions. From his early days in Broadus, tearing up the town with his buddies, to his retirement years in Enumclaw, Washington, he lived life to the fullest. A professional road maintainer, he earned his nickname, Zulee, from the Montana Highway Department. However, his work didn’t end there. He also drove the activity bus for the Colstrip School District, a role he cherished as it allowed him to support his beloved granddaughters in their various sports. When he wasn't behind the wheel, Roger could be found trying his luck at poker machines, watching his grandsons race motorcross or enjoying breakfast at Charlie’s in Enumclaw. He was a proud member of the Moose Lodge 2190 in Colstrip, always ready to lend a helping hand.
Roger leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor his legacy. He is survived by his children, Nicole Jackson and Roger Zuehlsdorff, along with his son-in-law, Nick Jackson. His granddaughters, Jenni Eckart(Larry), Heaven Zuehlsdorff(Damon Ash-Eide), Courtnee Zuehlsdorff(Cody Hornbaker), Crystine Bohnet(Logan), and grandsons, Chayse Jackson(Jolene Lingle) and Brody Jackson, will remember their grandpa with fondness and laughter. Along with 10 - great grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews. Remembering him also, are his siblings Leith Simonson, Velma Wittman, Arlen and Dwight Zuehlsdorff. He now joins his parents, John and Mabel Zuehlsdorff, and his siblings John, Swede, Jewel, Noel, and Deilda, along with his daughter-in-law, Mia, on the other side.
As we bid farewell to our dear Roger, let's remember him in the way that he would've wanted - with joy, laughter, and a good story to tell. Speacial Thanks, to Roger's nephew Dennis for helping out these past few months, "only 25 seconds" as Roger would say! Please share your memories and upload photos of Roger to his memorial page. Let's continue to celebrate his life, just as he celebrated each of ours. In the words of Dr. Seuss, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." Indeed, we are smiling because Roger happened to us.
