Rozellen "Rose" (Perelli) Burgess Obituary (1923

Rozellen (Rose) Burgess 4/14/23-5/25/16 Mother, Grandmother, Great grandmother, Aunt, Cousin, Business Colleague, Sister, Friend Rose was born in Ferndale, WA, married Wendell (Windy) Burgess in 1941, and thereafter moved to Port Orchard, WA. They had son Rockie, daughter Sandy, son Bill. Rose has survived her husband, 2 sons, and her 3 brothers. She is survived by daughter, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews. Rose loved camping, boating, fishing, gardening, and dancing. She worked over the years as a waitress in a San Diego hotel while Windy was overseas in the Navy. She was a draftsman for Boeing, and also in the Boeing Chorus a few years. When she moved on from that, Rose had a dance studio in their home where she taught tap, ballet, jazz and acrobat, as well as taught piano. In the late 60's Windy became the first Park Ranger on Blake Island. They lived there about 5 years then transferred to Deception St Park for a few more years, then "retired" back to Port Orchard. There Rose went into Real Estate (again, from years ago in Seattle) and had fond memories of all her clientele and her fine business associates, and dear friends. She was said to be "like a second mother" to some. One Associate said of Rose: "She taught me so much when I was new to real estate." Rose was baptized in 1959 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and has happily shared with a great many what the Bible teaches. Her strong faith in the Bible's promise of a resurrection here on earth, with restored health, always kept her going--all her 93 years--looking forward to seeing all those loved ones again soon. In Rose's later years she spent 4 years at Stafford Suites Assisted Living in Port Orchard, enjoying all the activities and fine friends there. For the last year and a half Rose was living with daughter Sandy and granddaughter Theresa's family in Port Orchard, enjoying family life again. It always pleased Rose to be of help to any and all she could, any time. One of Rose's favorite Scriptures is John 5:28, 29 which states, "Do not be amazed at this, that the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, to a resurrection of life." We all look forward to seeing Rose again before long. She will rest in peace in Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Please share your thoughts about Rose here for us to enjoy also.
