Seth Knapp Obituary (1917

Seth Addison Knapp Seth A. Knapp, 93, beloved husband and father, was born Feb 20, 1917 in Portland, OR and died Oct 5, 2010, at Washington Veterans Home in Retsil, WA, near Port Orchard. He was loved and will be greatly missed by his wife of 62 years, Eleanor; sons Douglas, Deane (Dorine), Roger (Cheryl), David (Lori), Warren (Erik); daughter Lynette (Keith) Lile; 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He lived in Purdy, Washington most of his life where he was in business as a forestry farmer. He was a WW II Navy Veteran and served in the Merchant Marine. He was a former member of Peninsula Lutheran and Christ Lutheran congregations and recently attended chapel services at the veterans home. He loved golf, enjoyed traveling and was active in church work including being scoutmaster of the church scout troop. He was preceded in death by brothers Earl and Byron and sisters Carol and Norma; and is survived by brothers Calvin and Forest and sisters Carmen Nordlund, Charl Blackwood and Laura Otto. A Memorial Service will be held at the Veterans Home Chapel, 1141 Beach Dr, Port Orchard, WA, 1pm, Oct 11. Interment at Haven of Rest, Gig Harbor.
