Wendy Miller

–

Enumclaw, Washington

Wendy Miller was born in Tacoma, Washington, to William and Thelma Whitmore on December 4, 1949. She joined her brothers, Calvin and Lee, and later became the “big sissy” to her younger sisters, Milli and Annette. Wendy graduated from White River High School in 1968.

On a very cold November 21, 1970, Wendy married the love of her life, Allen Miller. Together, they raised three children: Michelle, Tom, and Leanne. Wendy spent most of her life as a devoted stay-at-home mom. After Allen’s accident, she returned to the workforce, working at Jayhawks before eventually retiring from Lowe’s in the early 2000s.

Wendy enjoyed many hobbies and could always find joy in a good craft project. She loved camping, crocheting, scrapbooking, and just about any kind of crafting. She had a special love for anything Mickey Mouse or angels—and, of course, internet shopping!

Above all else, Wendy treasured her family. She lived for her children and grandchildren, and there was nothing that made her happier or more content than spending time with the people she loved. Family was truly the center of her world.

Wendy is survived by her children, Michelle (Larry) O’Neill, Tom (Heather) Miller, and Leanne Horton; her grandchildren, Curtis (Leslie) Horton, Sydney (Drake) Miller, Cody Horton, Brooke (Luke) Haverkamp, and TJ (Violet) Miller; and her precious first great-grandchild, John-Luke Haverkamp.

She is also survived by her sisters, Milli (John) Palmer and Annette (Larry) Sisson; sisters-in-law Marilyn Whitmore and Mary Jean Whitmore; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Brian, Doug, Christina, Kelly, Kenny, Adam, and Kayla on the Whitmore side, and Shelly, Tammy, Greg, Lyle, and Tonia on the Miller side.

Wendy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Thelma Whitmore; her brothers, Calvin and Lee Whitmore; and her granddaughter, Hannah.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the loving care Wendy received at St. Elizabeth. We are also deeply grateful to Heritage House Memory Care and Franciscan Hospice for the compassionate care and support they provided during her final seven weeks.

Mom, we will miss you more than words can say. We find comfort knowing you are reunited with Dad. Thank you for your unconditional love, your devotion, and the life you dedicated to our family. You will forever be loved and deeply missed.
