On Tuesday, March 26, 2024, Carl McKenzie passed away.

Carl was born on January 13, 1958, in Honolulu, HI to Roy and Pearl McKenzie. He graduated from Enumclaw High School in 1976. Carl pursued interests in automotive and diesel mechanics, construction, manufacturing, and aircraft maintenance and engineering. In the Summer 1993, he made his best choice in life and married Christina Julien. Carl and Tina resided in Buckley, WA.

Carl's life journey was one of resilience and redemption. Despite facing significant challenges and setbacks, he demonstrated remarkable strength and determination. Carl confronted his inner struggles with a steadfast resolve, navigating life’s challenges with courage and grace. He emerged as a testament to the power of second chances and the human capacity for growth and change. His commitment to self-improvement and his unwavering resolve to overcome adversity serve as an inspiring example to all who knew him. In the end, Carl's legacy is defined by the indelible mark he left on the hearts of those he touched with his kindness and generosity.

Carl lived most of his life in Washington; however, his heart remained tethered to Montana, the landscape of cherished memories from his youth. Carl found joy in various pursuits. He could often be found tinkering with engines or delighting friends and neighbors with his expertly grilled BBQ creations. An avid outdoorsman, he cherished times spent fishing, hunting, and four-wheeling. His love for collecting coins and NASCAR memorabilia reflected his diverse interests that included an appreciation of history and the thrill of racing cars. In quieter moments, Carl found joy in woodworking and model building, channeling his creativity into carefully crafted creations. Above all, Carl cherished the bonds of friendship and the sense of community, embodying the spirit of a good friend and neighbor.

Carl is survived by his wife Tina, his parents Roy and Pearl, his brother Neil, his sisters, Darla and Joanie, extended family members Greg, Tony, Joan and grandchildren Derek and Alycia as well as other nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held at a time and location to be determined later.
